We use cell phones on a daily basis but not while driving. We had twin 17 year old girls killed by a cell phone user in 2002. Cell phone use and texting has only gotten worse since then. They cost lives every day. We have heard all the arguments so save your time. People do have other distractions but you will notice cell phone use is the absolute most common. Everybody sees it and frowns upon it but they do it anyway. If these videos save one life then it was all worth it.

There are situations where technology of this nature is necessary. I’m an honest person and so is my husband but unfortunately not all people are. If a spouse needs proof so they can get out of a bad relationship there should be a way but not with 3rd parties violating their and their family’s privacy. As for teens I say as parents we have every right to fully monitor their activity. I would never let my kid have a smartphone though, that is STUPID. My child won’t have one til she’s grown.
@amel1963 Smartphones have already destroyed society and trust.This sucks if you’re the one being spyed on but if you’re one who has already confronted your spouse, they lie to your face, and you have no other way to find out the truth.. this IDEA is good imo but just the part about YOU being able to monitor your spouse..not anyone else monitoring or sharing that info. As for children I think if you’re dumb enough to let them have a smartphone they need monitoring.. by the parents of course.

And sadly these kinds of things are used by big companies and they get away with it. Just look at the chips they implant in credit cards, pass ports and in some cases PEOPLE. (some ppl choose to get a chip implanted to make things “easier” but the cons far outwiegh the pros.

@Contosoldier 0.8 promille (parts per thousand) is excactly the same as the legal limit of 0.08 you refer to (parts per hundred). The States operate with parts per hundred in their reference to blood alcohol limits, where as many other countries in the world use parts per thousand (aka promille) when refering to the same figures.

If it’s conversation, talking to passengers should be just as bad as using the phone. I’ve noticed that I can only have simple conversations while driving. I forget what the passenger said, forget what I said, zone out, need things repeated, can’t articulate… conversation demands too much attention to do while driving.
